The pandemic is forcing the world to operate in a reset mode that mandates flawless and secure software. If you’re passionate about software excellence and want to be part of a community of like-minded people, join us!

The Software Excellence Alliance is a community of practice that unites individuals who share an outrageous commitment to achieving six-sigma software quality. We invite like-minded individuals to join us in the passionate pursuit of software excellence, to contribute and profit from the experience of our community members, and to collaborate in building a road towards the consistent production of flawless and secure software.

The founders of the SEA have worked with Watts Humphrey and are still dedicated to his mission of changing the world of software engineering, where excellence in software is the expected standard.  Both of our organizations are rooted in the same principles. 

Everyone is welcome to join the SEA. It’s free to join, just take a minute to complete the membership form below.  SEA members can access the SEA Google Drive where we have archived the outputs of our completed working groups, the list of our active working groups, minutes from community and workgroup meetings, and recordings and slides from recent presentations.  Members will also receive invitations to our monthly meetings.

Working Group Training

Working Group Training

Purpose: Foster the effective collaboration of working group members in our alliance.

Proposed Near-Term Goals:

  • Develop working group training for using Google Docs & Google Groups, capturing effective meeting minutes, tracking and reporting status, etc.
  • Provide this training to all current and new SEA working group members.

Working Group Training

New Content Creation

Purpose: To innovate new ideas, or refresh old good ideas, to promote excellence in the creation of software.

Example Activities/Goals/Outputs:

  • Create a community with engineers from academia and industry, interested in taking the risk to innovate the manner we develop software today, challenging the level of excellence we are able to achieve.
  • Consolidate a Community of people and organizations egoless willing to cooperatively create knowledge and share that knowledge with others people and organizations willing to do the same, in the end, the goal is to develop a very competitive community capable of providing an enormous value to the need of Trustworthy System Software.
  • To be open to a wide range of different possibilities to improve.
