Data Warehouse Working Group

Purpose: To advance the state of the practice and state of the art of software engineering by providing a warehouse of high-quality, empirical data for research and benchmarking.

Proposed Near-term Goals: 

  • Develop a proposal for the SEI to release sanitized PSP/TSP data to the SEA
  • Create a place to house PSP/TSP data on the SEA website and on IEEE
  • Publicize the availability of the PSP/TSP data
  • Create a process to accept community contributions of data going forward
  • Provide subject matter experts to assist with the interpretation and use of the data

Community Networking & Membership

Community Networking & Membership

Purpose: Support the passionate expansion of our alliance through growth and outreach.  Cultivate a strategy for outreach and growth through networking with other organizations and through social media

Proposed Near-term Goals: 

  • Lead an ongoing membership drive, including reaching out to SPINs and other like-minded groups
  • Identify categories of participation in the SEA (attendee, notified/mailing list, member, corporate)
  • Create and publish a membership directory, and a process for keeping it up-to-date
  • Assist new members to engage with the community
  • Survey inactive members to identify unmet needs and priorities
  • Extend our outreach to the larger software development community 
  • Build marketing gravity around our alliance as a focal point for software excellence
  • Publicize alliance activities, share resources, and demonstrate thought leadership
  • Utilize a variety of social media channels

Next-Gen Tooling

Purpose: Guide the development of tools to support the evolving needs of current and future practitioners of TSP, and to lower barriers to adoption by agile teams

Proposed Near-term Goals: 

  • Continue collecting and prioritizing requirements for next-gen tools
  • Refine the value proposition for next-gen tools, and produce mockups/prototypes
  • Identify sponsors, customers, and testers for tool development
